To celebrate the completion of the decade, Rovers United Bruck CC looked back through the archives to find out who our most prestigious run scores and wicket takers were. The top 10 in each category are listed below.

Jon Hyde was the stand out player of the 10 years between January 2010 and December 2019, amassing a total of 2913 runs, whilst also chiming in with 202 wickets. In this time, Hyde kept the match ball 6 times (with 5 or more wickets) and also made two centuries.

Who you may not have expected to make the lists….

  • A few club legends in Jeremy Ackroyd (Rovers United) and Craig Startin (Bruck) made the bowling list having had impressive final seasons of their stellar A Grade careers. Ackroyd and Startin finished their careers in the early years of the decade, missing out on playing for the merged outfit.
  • Rovers United Bruck’s first ever ‘Overseas Player’ Joe Thomas made the bowling list. In Thomas’ two seasons at the club, he took 48 wickets at a remarkable 11.19. This stint also included the record bowling performance by a RUBCC player – 8/16 off 20.1
